About
The basilica is the oldest building in the city. It dates back to the first half of the 16th century. Initially, the building was in the Gothic style, and only at the beginning of the 18th century it changed its form. In the church sacristy there is the famous Twardowski Mirror, weighing over 17 kilograms, about which there are many legends. One of them concerns Napoleon Bonaparte, who saw his defeat in the mirror's reflection and broke the mirror with a riding crop in anger.
