The Soldiers' Cemetery of the 1st Polish Army in Stare Lysogory (Mieszkowice municipality) was established shortly after the end of World War II.Resting there are 1987 soldiers who died during the forcing of the Oder River as well as in the battles for Berlin in 1945. On the mass graves stand 1200 symbolic crosses, while above them is an 18-meter granite obelisk by sculptor Slawomir Lewinski, unveiled in 1961.The monument is decorated with two Grunwald swords with a figure of a mother with a child in her arms and an unfurled sail symbolizing the crossing of the river.
