Lake Kivu

Lake Kivu is one of the African Great Lakes, situated on the border between Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It is the sixth-largest lake in Africa, covering an area of approximately 2,700 square kilometers. The lake is part of the Albertine Rift, a segment of the East African Rift System, and is known for its stunning natural beauty, surrounded by lush green hills and vibrant volcanic landscapes. The towns of Gisenyi and Kibuye, located along its shores, serve as popular tourist destinations, attracting visitors with their scenic views, warm climate, and various recreational options.
