Sochaczew - one of the oldest cities in Mazovia with a history of over 800 years - is located in the western part of the province, on European transportation routes, which provides the city with favorable conditions for development. The Berlin-Moscow international route runs through Sochaczew, which can be traversed both by car and by train. Sochaczew is located near three major agglomerations, about 50 km west of Warsaw, 60 km from Plock and about 70 km from Lodz. It is also located on the international E-20 Warsaw-Poznan railroad line, and from the station there are direct connections to, among others, Toruń, Lublin, Szczecin, Bialystok and several other large cities. It should be mentioned that there is also a narrow-gauge railroad in Sochaczew, which since 1984 has had a purely museum function, but rides on the historic trains on the Sochaczew-Wilcze Tulowskie line are a special tourist attraction.
