Established in 1974, Roztocze National Park covers an area of approximately 8,500 hectares, 95% of which is natural forest – mainly beech, fir and pine forests. The aim of protection is to preserve and maintain the landscape of the Central Polish Uplands, unique in Poland and Europe, with its natural biological diversity and cultural values of the Roztocze region.
