Banjul

Banjul is a region and the capital of Gambia, located on the western coast of West Africa, at the mouth of the Gambia River on the Atlantic Ocean. Banjul is a small but key administrative, political and economic centre of the country. The city has a colonial character, with many buildings from the British era that testify to its history as part of the British Empire.

Although Banjul is not a large city, it is the heart of Gambia in terms of commercial and cultural activity. The region is home to important government institutions, including the Presidential Palace and the National Museum of Gambia, which showcases the country's history and culture. Banjul also serves as the main seaport of Gambia, making it a major transport hub.

The Banjul region also includes several tourist attractions, such as Arch 22, a monument commemorating the 1994 coup d'état, and proximity to beautiful beaches in nearby resorts such as Kotu and Kololi, which attract tourists from all over the world.
