Łańcut - a city located in Subcarpathian Voivodeship, Łańcut County, on the border of the Rzeszów Foothills and the Subcarpathian Proglacial Valley.
The history of Lancut dates back to the Middle Ages. This is because the city was founded by King Casimir the Great, who located it under the Magdeburg Law in 1349. The first owner of Lancut was Otto of Pilcza. In later years the city passed successively into the hands of the Stadnicki, Lubomirski and Potocki families.
There are many historic villas and mansions throughout the city, the oldest of which date from the 19th and 20th centuries.
