Drohiczyn is a small town located in the southern part of Podlaskie Voivodeship, in Siemiatycze County, on the Bug River. In the old days Drohiczyn served as the capital of Podlaskie province, while today it is a tourist destination - perfect for weekend trips.
It is here - in Drohiczyn - on the territory of the Bug River Historical and Cultural Park "Bug River - Borderland of Cultures and Religions" at 9 Kopernika Street that the Exhibition of Old Motorcycles is located. It includes more than 50 exhibits from both Poland and other countries of the world. The oldest specimens date back to the early 20th century. Also noteworthy is a large collection of license plates, brought from various corners of the world. In one of the rooms, since 2017, there is also a Chamber of Memory of Viktor Wegrzyn and the Katyn Rally. In it you can admire the commander's motorcycle and memorabilia related to the rally.
To date, motorcycles from 13 countries have been on display, including. such brands as: ABC, ARMOR, ARIEL, AUTOMOTO, BIANCHI, BMW, BSA, CEMEC, CLEMENT, CONDOR, DKW, DOLLAR, DOUGLAS, D-RAD, FAVOR, FN, HARLEY DAVIDSON, HUSQVARNA, INDIAN, JUNAK, IŻ, MONARK, MOTO GUZZI, MOTOCONFORT, NIMBUS, NSU, PANTHER, PEUGOT, PUCH, RENE GILLET, RHONY'X, ROYAL ENFIELD, SAROELA, SOKOL, TEROT, VICTORIA, ZUNDAPP, JAWA, SHL, WSK, WFM and many others. The exhibition is permanent and is constantly expanding with new exhibits.
On the first floor of the building, a technology exhibition and an archeological exhibition are on display. In the technical section one can see antique cameras, typewriters and calculating machines, film projectors, sewing machines, antique playing equipment and many other interesting everyday devices. In addition, the technical part is enriched by mopeds of Polish, German and Czechoslovakian manufacture.
The final point of the tour is the archeological exhibition. It presents exhibits from archaeological research carried out in the city and its immediate vicinity. Among the most interesting relics on display are a collection of "Drohiczyn-type" lead seals dating back to the 12th and 13th centuries, early medieval jewelry, Stone Age tools, a fragment of an aurochs skull and a world atlas from 1648.
