Orthodox Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary from the end of XIX century. The first mention of Wlodawa Orthodox Church dates back to 1564. Over the several centuries of its history it has undergone various vicissitudes, mainly connected with the turbulent history of the town. It was repeatedly destroyed and rebuilt. In the 17th century it was probably taken over by the Uniates, and in 1875, after the suppression of the Union, it passed into the hands of the Orthodox. The current Orthodox church was built in 1893-1895, probably according to a design by Russian architect Viktor Sychugov. It is picturesquely located on the edge of the Bug River escarpment. It represents the type of Russian Orthodox church, in Byzantine-Classical style.
